Staff and Students

There are four doctors in the practice:

GP Registrar

The practice has been approved for the training of fully qualified doctors who are pursuing a career in general practice. You may be offered an appointment with our GP Registrar who is currently Dr Imran Hussain.

Other practice staff

Sister Juliette Colborne is our Practice Nurse and is assisted from time to time by Sister Cath Lewis. They both play an important part in monitoring patients with chronic diseases as well as providing appointments for ear syringing, dressings, immunisations, stitch removal and travel advice, etc.

Our Practice Manager, Barbara Grant, is responsible for the day to day organisation of all non clinical matters concerning the practice and a team of 6 receptionists work a rota to ensure that patients are attended during normal surgery hours.

Medical students

The practice works closely with the Leeds University School of Medicine and occasionally we have medical students with us on a general practice placement. We may ask your permission for you to be seen by a student but this is not obligatory and you are free to decline. We believe that involvement in teaching keeps our standards high as well as providing future doctors with first hand experience of life in general practice. We are grateful to you for lending your support to our teaching and hope that you will accept the occasional presence of a medical student or video camera during consultations. Your permission would always be sought in these circumstances but please feel free to refuse if you are uncomfortable with this.

Patient information is treated with the utmost confidentiality and is released only in line with the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act and the Caldicott Guidelines.
