Arrange to see a doctor or a nurse
- The practice operates an appointment system to help prevent patients waiting for long periods and to regulate the clinical work. The time allocated to each appointment is 10 minutes.
- Please telephone or call in to the surgery to book an appointment and ask for a separate appointment for each person to be seen.
- You may consult any of the doctors in the practice and we will try to accommodate you with the doctor of your choice.
- Appointments are usually bookable up to 6 months in advance.
When booking an appointment why does the receptionist ask me what’s wrong?
Reception staff are trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive the most appropriate medical care from the most appropriate health professional at the most appropriate time. This also helps doctors prioritise home visits and phone calls and ensures all patients receive the appropriate level of care. Also, where appropriate, it directs patients to see the nurse or other health professional rather than a doctor.
Reception staff, like all members of the team, are bound by confidentiality rules.
Any information given by you is treated in the strictest confidence. The practice takes any breach of confidentiality very seriously and will deal with it accordingly. You can ask to speak to a receptionist in private away from the reception counter however if you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to say what this is then we will respect your decision.
Online Booking/Cancellation of Appointments
Appointments with doctors are available to book and cancel online. We would request that these appointments are used for medical problems only.

PLEASE DO NOT USE OUR ONLINE BOOKING FACILITY FOR THESE BUT CONTACT OUR RECEPTION TEAM ON 01943 604455. IN THE EVENT APPOINTMENTS ARE BOOKED FOR ANY OF THE STIPULATED REASONS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL.

Please note you will need a USERNAME and PASSWORD to use this facility which can be obtained from Reception.
Missed appointments: Unfortunately, many appointments are booked and the patient never shows up or is late and has missed the 10 minute appointment slot. This means there are fewer appointments for everyone else. We understand sometimes you may be running late or will, on occasion, forget. Please ring and let us know if you are running late and the receptionist will advise if the doctor / nurse can fit you in.
If you are unable to keep your appointment please advise us as soon as possible so that we can offer your appointment slot to another patient.
The practice operates bookable telephone consultations (5 miniutes) with a GP for non-urgent medical problems and simple advice. Telephone 01943 604455.
